Our Story

The Wandering Albatross is a much loved campervan based in Belfast and run by sibling duo, Emer and Sean.​

Emer has always been vehicle mad, and it's always been her dream to own a campervan. Last year she bought a van, and after much planning, had it expertly converted by engineer extraordinaire Simon McGavigan of Caulfield Composites in their hometown of Strabane.

​

Emer was originally going to use the van for touring as she is a musical comedian and always travelling for shows. But when she showed the camper to her friends, they were blown away and convinced her to share the camper love with others. Emer got to work adding finishing touches to the van, and so, the Wandering Albatross was born. 

​

As a creative, Emer is passionate about interior design, website design and graphic design. So she got to work decorating the interior, making the advertising materials for the van and building the website. But she needed someone level headed and technically minded to manage logistics. Enter her brother Sean! An aerospace engineer and senior operational specialist by trade...who better to bring on board!

​

Together, Emer and Sean have launched the Wandering Albatross, and are both very excited for all the future travels the camper will be part of.

 

The final member of the team is Emer's beloved dog Alby. The van is even named after him - he regularly gets referred to as Alby Albatross! Alby's role in the team is quality controller of our pet package.
